El Dorado Adventist School traces its roots back to 1913, when the first iteration of our institution opened its doors. In 1936, we merged with a neighboring school to form the Camino-Placerville Junior Academy, offering grades K–10 at our current location. Over the ensuing decades, the school was renamed El Dorado Junior Academy and continued as a K–10 program until 1996, when local church leaders decided to expand to a full K–12 curriculum.
From 1996 to 2003, our high school classes operated under the auspices of Rio Lindo Adventist Academy in Healdsburg, CA, as an extension campus. In the fall of 2003, the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists granted El Dorado Adventist School permission to function independently as a complete K–12 institution. By June 2004, we celebrated our very first graduating class. In March 2020, our constituency voted to refocus on a K–8 program, where we continue to nurture young learners today.
Alumni Interviews
Special Guests
We had the honor of interviewing our some of our oldest living classmates, who shared precious stories with us about their time at EAS back in the 1930s-1940s. Alice Thiele Fuller, Barbara Babcock Julier and Gene Larsen share what it was like studying at our Christian school in Placerville back in those days.
Are you an alumni with stories to share? We'd love to get your stories!
